About Technology

There are two types of technologies that Intoximeters utilizes in its alcohol breath testing instruments.  A few of our instruments use both the Infrared Spectroscopy and Electro Chemical Analysis or Fuel Cell technology.  However, most of our instruments use one or the other.  Other types of alcohol detection are Wet Chemistry, Photo Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography and Semi-Conductor Sensors (Tin Oxide Sensors).
